I) NGO Internships

  • University of Minnesota Campaign to Ban Landmines.

Four positions available to design the Campaigns' website, raise funds for the Adopt a Minefield Program, and assist with Campaign events. For more information on this issue see the web site of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines at: http://www.icbl.org/

  • Center for Victims of Torture

Five positions available to do work for CVT in Minneapolis. Preferably these are semester-long positions for which you can also earn 4-12 course credits by registering for Political Science 3070.   • American Refugee Committee

Five positions available to do work on the Focus on Hope Project. For more information on the ARC see their web site at http://www.archq.org/ Application information available from Professor Price.

  • Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights.

Positions available to work on the Refugee and Immigrant Program, human rights education programs, and web-site / technological work. For more information see their web site at http://www.mnadvocates.org/ Application information available from Professor Price.

II) Other Student Project Possibilities

  • •Fund-Raisers. Creative events to raise funds for international issues, such as one day fasts to raise money for humanitarian / disaster relief, famine and poverty, or dances or golf tournaments.
  • •Issue-Awareness Campaigns. Public events to highlight issues, such as campaigns against child labor / sweat-shops and/or product boycotts (for example, dolphin-safe tuna).
