Power and Choice

What political choices do citizens have and how do they make them? What is political power and how is it exercised? This class explores the central role that power and choice play in political life. We will start by looking at various conceptualizations of political power and choice before applying them to a number of real-world cases. For example, we will explore how power and choice are manifested in questions of ethnicity and race, criminal justice, economic equality, and foreign aggression.
