The bookstore also has a packet with all of the other assigned readings for the course. In addition to the packet, all readings are on reserve in Wilson Library.

REQUIREMENTS: There will be a mid-term exam, a final exam and a term paper. The tests will consist partly of essay questions, partly of short identifications. The paper should be extensively researched, and should probably be something like 15-20 pages in length. BEFORE YOU GET FAR INTO WORKING ON YOUR TOPIC YOU SHOULD TALK TO SHIVELY ABOUT IT. Late papers will have a 5-point (1/2 grade) reduction.

The tests and paper will be weighted as follows:
    Mid-term, 20%
    Final, 40%
    Paper, 40%

There will be additional reading and writing requirements for graduate students.
